Teamster road-blocks hit over 20 states and hurt aviation kerosene supplies to Brasilia Airport

 

The second day of roadblocks by truck-drivers protesting diesel fuel price increases have affected various services throughout Brazil. Airport, industrial and farming activities were all restricted by the protests along the main federal routes.

In Brasilia the Inframerica,concessionaire running the Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport decided to rationalize airport fuel stocks in light of the possibility of kerosene fuel shortages for the aircraft. The reason lies in the vehicles supplying the airport with kerosene being held up on the routes around the Federal District by the teamsters..
